This is a bitmap image format that was created by the MacPaint graphics program used on Apple Macintosh computers. The MAC format supported the display of only two colors, including a pattern palette. It was used by Macintosh graphics editors to store black-and-white graphics. The maximum image size was 576×720.

This format is applied in universal vector graphics in Windows applications. It’s used to store collections of graphical drawings. It stores data in the RGB range, not supporting the CMYK system. It can be used as the graphics language for a printer driver. It has a 16-bit structure.
