Type42 was based on the PostScript language for displaying TrueType fonts. It allows for printing all TrueType fonts on PostScript printers and allows for rasterization when displayed. All changes in font structure occur with PostScript procedures. It supports multibyte TrueType fonts in Chinese, Korean and Japanese.

This is a bitmap image format used in the VisiQuest Khoros visualization software suite. VIFF can be used to store bitmaps that are made up of color zones. It can store up to 2–3 color maps, and it is used to analyze visual data in research software.
